Welcome to Northwood Elementary School, home of the Northwood Bears.
 
Northwood Elementary School is located in San Jose, California, and is a part of the Berryessa Union School District. Our student population of almost 500 students has a very diverse ethnic makeup that brings a richness of cultures to our campus. 
 
Northwood shares the District's vision in providing “educational excellence in a safe, innovative and inclusive student-centered learning environment, inspiring students, staff and the community.” Our school’s vision is that our students “will be prepared for the future in a safe, nurturing environment that inspires academic and social learning in order to be critical thinkers and active citizens in a global community.”
 
The Northwood staff is committed to providing each student with a positive and successful educational experience. We firmly believe in building life-long skills and our staff work together to ensure academic and social success for the future by providing opportunities for students to implement and extend their classroom learning concepts and strategies. Each month, we highlight an important character trait that is shared with students and families that helps students become well-rounded citizens. 
 
We believe that parents and community members are an integral and valued part of our students’ educational team and these partnerships help ensure success for our students. Together, we can make a difference in our students’ academic and social achievement.
